Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane remains keen on signing Chelsea’s Belgian star Eden Hazard and is hoping to convince the Real hierarchy to sanction a move.

Whilst Real president Florentino Perez continues to dream of moves for the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Thibaut Courtois, Alexis Sanchez, Robert Lewandowski and Mauro Icardi, there is just one name in Zidane’s mind: that of Hazard.

English publication ‘The Sun’ reports that the French boss will push for the signing of the 26-year-old when he meets with Perez to discuss potential targets this week.

This interest is of course nothing new, with Real having considered a move on several occasions in the past and whilst Chelsea have always refused to negotiate with ‘Los Blancos’, Hazard is known to be very open to the move, having grown up idolising Zidane.

“Everyone knows the respect I have for Zidane as a player, but also as a manager. He was my idol,” Hazard told Belgian TV channel RTL.

“I do not know what will happen in the future. However, for sure, to play under Zidane would be a dream.”

Perez has always opposed the signing of Hazard, fearing that it would limit the chances for the likes of Marco Asensio and Isco, but having seen Real struggle in what has been a sluggish start to the season and with Gareth Bale’s injury curse, he is now thought to be considering a marquee signing to revitalise the Spanish giants.

The Belgian has scored eight goals and layed on seven assists in 22 games so far this season and has returned to his devastating best since being moved centrally alongside Alvaro Morata in the Chelsea attack.

Could 2018 be the year that Hazard finally gets his dream move?
