Here’s a list of the players of the players who have scored against the most teams in La Liga history.
1. Lionel Messi and Raul (35 teams)
The Barca star and the Real Madrid legend have both notched against 35 different teams during their La Liga careers. However, Messi could overtake Raul if he scores against Girona this season.
2. Julio Salinas and Aritz Aduriz (34 teams)
A historic La Liga goalscorer in Julio Salinas is joint in second place with Basque star Aduriz. The Bilbao striker could draw level with Raul if he also scores against Girona this year, although the Basque side have already played once against the Catalan side this season.
3. Hugo Sanchez and Raul Tamudo (33 teams)
Two players who have already retired and can’t increase their tally. On the one hand, you have the Mexican striker Sanchez, who was top scorer of La Liga several times and played for Atletico, Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano. On the other you have Tamudo, who played for Espanyol and Real Sociedad as well as Rayo Vallecano in the final stage of his career.
4. Ismael Urzaiz, Jose Mari Bakero, Luis Enrique, Miguel Pardeza and Fernando Morientes (32 teams)
Fourth place is shared between five retired players that can’t improve their standing either. Apart from Pardeza, who didn’t reach 100 La Liga goals, the rest of the players were prolific goalscorers in the top tier. There’s out-and-out strikers like Urzaiz and Morientes and more versatile players like Bakero or Luis Enrique.
5. Cristiano Ronaldo (31 teams)
The Portuguese star props up the list but could join Hugo Sanchez and Tamudo on 33 teams this season as he still has to face Leganes and Girona, two clubs he has not yet scored against in La Liga.
