Real Madrid are lining up a surprise move for Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata in January, according to the Express .
Mata has been dropped by Jose Mourinho in recent matches and with his contract set to expire after this season, the Red Devils could garner a fee for the 29-year-old in the January window rather than let him depart for nothing in the summer.
Mata developed in Madrid’s youth system, and could be tempted by a return to his roots with the Bernabeu club.
RONALDO DOESN’T WANT KANE AT MADRID
Cristiano Ronaldo is unwilling to share the limelight at Real Madrid with Tottenham star Harry Kane, according to Sky Sports News pundit Guillem Balague (via the Daily Star).
Kane has emerged as a real target for the struggling Merengue after a fine start to the season in the Premier League.
But Ronaldo still has a lot of sway around the Bernabeu, and reportedly would rather continue playing alongside Karim Benzema despite the pair’s scoring woes in La Liga so far this campaign.
NAVAS TO REPLACE CECH AT ARSENAL?
Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas is wanted by Arsenal as a long-term replacement for Petr Cech, reports Diario Gol.
Navas’s future at Madrid is uncertain as the Costa Rica international is reportedly unhappy at the club’s interest in the likes of Manchester United keeper David de Gea.
Liverpool are already reported to have registered their interest in Navas, and now Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking at the Madrid No.1 to take over from Cech.
MENDES WANTS €100M BARCA DEAL FOR JAMES
James Rodriguez’s agent Jorge Mendes wants to persuade Bayern Munich to sign the on-loan Real Madrid playmaker permanently, and then sell him to Barcelona for €100 million, claims Don Balon.
Bayern signed Rodriguez on a two-year loan deal in the summer and have the option to take the Colombia international on a permanent basis for €60m.
However, Rodriguez is unhappy at Bayern following the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti, with reports suggesting Thiago Alcantara and Arturo Vidal are also unsettled at the Allianz Arena.
Mendes wants to engineer a move to Barca for Rodriguez, although the player’s gratitude towards Madrid could be one of the stumbling blocks in any deal.
MOURINHO WANTS VARANE FOR DE GEA
Jose Mourinho wants Raphael Varane in exchange for allowing Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea to join Real Madrid next summer, claims Don Balon.
De Gea remains Madrid’s No.1 goalkeeping target and Mourinho is increasingly concerned the Spaniard will head back to La Liga.
But, in return, he wants to sign a player from Madrid and has identified France centre-back Varane as his preferred option.

Real Madrid are planting the seeds to sign Neymar in the future despite the Brazilian’s world-record transfer to PSG just a few months ago, according to a report in Diario Gol .
The report states that the Brazilian is looking at a two-year window to win both the Ballon d’Or and the Champions League in Paris. If he doesn’t achieve those goals, then Neymar will consider moving on.
