Alvaro Morata is quickly gaining a reputation for his aerial ability and he showed it to full effect again on Saturday, heading home to restore Chelsea’s lead against Newcastle.
The goal was Morata’s ninth in the league this campaign, with five of those coming with his head.
Chelsea had gone behind early on after Dwight Gayle gave Newcastle the lead but Eden Hazard levelled things, before Morata got in on the act.
Victor Moses crossed from the right and despite being up against two defenders, Morata outfought his rivals to head past Karl Darlow from close range.
The replays appeared to show a push from Morata on Chancel Mbemba but the goal was allowed to stand.
