New PSG signing Kylian Mbappe vows to keep learning after a successful goalscoring debut on Friday night.
Kylian Mbappe ensured his hotly anticipated Paris Saint-Germain debut was memorable as he marked it with an impressive strike and he revealed his joy at joining one of the top sides in Europe.
The 18-year-old joined from Monaco at the end of the transfer window and will cost the club from the French capital £166m next summer. He joined the world’s most expensive player Neymar (£198m) and Edinson Cavani in attack for the first time during their 5-1 win at Metz on Friday night.
All three forwards managed to get on the scoresheet at Metz and Mbappe spoke about the relationship forming between him and his new team-mates, telling Canal Plus: “I always wanted to play with great players, I had the opportunity to play with what is best in France and perhaps in Europe.
“I will try to learn from their movements, their professionalism. All I wanted to do is be at the ground. I was very happy, I had a lot of fun, the rest I will manage to adapt to.”
On his first goal as a PSG player, he added: “It was a nice goal, I wanted to pass Ney, the defender intercepts, I react faster than my opponent and I power it in.”
