The Merseysiders have not been impressive in Europe this term and will have it all to do in their trip to France.
Everton will be away as they take on Olympique Lyon at the Groupama Stadium in Group E of the Uefa Europa League on Thursday night.
Bruno Genesio’s side claimed a 2-0 win over Metz in Ligue 1 on Sunday which sees them sit in third place, seven points from the top. Lyon didn’t start their European campaign well but a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture.
The Toffees are without a win from their opening three games with just a solitary point to show for. This is not the kind of situation Everton would have wanted to find themselves considering their heavy player recruitment in the summer. David Unsworth’s men are however quoted at (6.50) by the same firm for their first win in Group E.
Everton have recorded one draw in their group while Lyon have claimed two.
Les Gones’ victory at Goodison Park was their first ever competitive meeting against the Merseysiders. Having ended 2-1, a repeat scoreline in favour of the seven-time French champions.
Genesio’s charges have won four of their last five home games in Europe’s second tier club competition.
Lyon have scored 17 goals in those concerned games so punters can look towards three goals.
The downside side is that they haven’t kept a clean sheet in that period. With Everton conceding in their previous eight matches in European competitions.
