Ryan Giggs is tipping Manchester United to finish first or second in the Premier League this season, with Tottenham third.
Manchester City are the team to beat in the Premier League at the moment after having made a flying start to the new campaign under Pep Guardiola.
The Citizens are currently leading the way at the top of the table and have managed to build an eight-point lead over Manchester United in just 11 games of the new campaign.
Manchester City are clearly the favourites to win the title this season but former Red Devils star Giggs is still convinced that Jose Mourinho’s men will run them close in the title race.
And the former Wales midfielder believes that Tottenham will not be far behind, tipping the Lilywhites to finish third in the table this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Giggs said: “I still see Manchester United as the main title rivals for City this season, with Jose Mourinho’s record being key, while he should have Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to come back when you really need those big-game players to make an impact.
“Tottenham have also been impressive and I had thought they would struggle going for the title with the Wembley and playing in the Champions League but they’ve gotten over it really well, so I’d have them third in the mix.”
Manchester United are preparing to return to Premier League action this weekend when they take on Newcastle United at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are aiming to get back to winning ways after their 1-0 loss to Chelsea before the international break.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are gearing up for their crunch north London derby showdown against Arsenal at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
