Floyd Mayweather defeats Conor McGregor with Round 10 stoppage

CONOR MCGREGOR’s attempt to become the first man to defeat Floyd Mayweather Jr ended in heartbreak.

The UFC lightweight champion locked horns with 40-year-old Mayweather in a boxing match in the early hours of the morning at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the weeks building up to the controversial bout, McGregor, the first fighter in UFC history to hold two titles simultaneously, repeatedly vowed to shock the world by KO’ing 49-0 Mayweather, who was fighting for the first time in 23 months.

However, Ireland’s first UFC belt holder came up short in his pursuit to make history, suffering a defeat to 40-year-old Mayweather.
