A husband and wife who survived the Las Vegas massacre died just a few days afterwards in a car crash.
Dennis Carver shielded his wife Lorraine as killer Stephen Paddock fired indiscriminately into crowds at the Route 91 Harvest music festival.
In the aftermath Mrs Carver, 52, posted a moving Facebook message thanking her husband for his bravery.
They ran hand-in-hand to safety as the killer claimed 59 innocent lives and injured more than 500 on October 1.
In the final two weeks of their lives, their daughter said, Mr and Mrs Carver lived life in the moment.
Booke Carver, 20, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal : “Their love was selfless.
“After the shooting, they heard from all of the people they cared about most. They were so happy,” said Brooke, 20. “The last two weeks of their lives were really just spent living in the moment.”
Days after the mass killing, Mrs Carver posted a picture of flowers her husband had bought for her, alongside the words: “I have the most amazing husband.
“Not only did he shield my body during the shooting in Las Vegas and guide me to safety but then he sends me flowers today.
“I am blessed”
The couple died on October 16 after their car crashed and burst into flames close to their gated home in Riverside County, California.
The Riverside County Fire Department said the vehicle had smashed into a metal gate shortly before 11pm, and it took officers nearly an hour to get the blaze under control.
