Carlo Ancelotti returns to one of his former clubs as Bayern Munich look to build on a bright start to their UEFA Champions League campaign at French big-spenders Paris Saint-Germain.
The German record champions failed to reach at least the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in six years last term, but they got this season’s bid for European glory off to an emphatic start with a 3-0 win over Anderlecht on Matchday 1. Their Bundesliga form has been patchier, though, with the 2-2 draw at home to Wolfsburg leaving them three points off Borussia Dortmund’s league-setting pace. James Rodriguez was rested on Friday but the Colombian should be given more than a watching brief in the French capital as Bayern seek to wrestle top spot from arguably their main Group B rivals.
PSG, armed with the world’s most expensive player in Neymar, have hit the ground running this season, and sit atop Ligue 1 after seven games without having tasted defeat. The Brazilian and Edinson Cavani have clashed in recent days, though. A repeat of the 5-0 win over Celtic is decidedly unlikely.

Salihamidzic was on target in a 2-0 win at the old Olympiastadion.
