Bookies and experts believe the Irish UFC star is in for a drubbing in his first ever boxing bout against “Money” on Sunday morning UK time.
BRITISH boxing legend Carl Froch MBE has given his verdict on the mega-bout between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor – and has made an eye-opening prediction.
Ex-super-middleweight champ Froch – who recently blasted Amir Khan for airing a furious row with his wife on Twitter – fancies Mayweather to secure victory.
But despite overwhelming odds “The Cobra”, 40, predicts the favourite will find himself in “trouble” in the early rounds of the fight.
TOUGH: Carl Froch has given his verdict on the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor bout
The ex-BBC Sports Personality of the Year nominee told Daily Star Online: “I can see Mayweather maybe get in a bit of trouble early on.”
He continued: “He’ll make it awkward and tricky for Mayweather but ultimately Mayweather has plenty of skills – his movement, sharp jab, overall ring craftsmanship, a wealth of experience.
“There are a lot of question marks around Mayweather being out of the ring for two years.”
“It should be a mismatch. It should be one-sided.
“But the fascination is in McGregor being young, 29, and Mayweather being 40, the element of the unknown, the fact them two are stars in their own sports.
The now property manager earlier lifted the lid exclusively to Daily Star Online on his life since hanging up his gloves and who British heavyweight golden boy Anthony Joshua should fight next.
He also blasted ex-rival and Welsh legend Joe Calzaghe as a “troll” and believes he’d have knocked him out despite the pair never going toe-to-toe.
