Alvaro Morata! The Spaniard once again showed his aerial prowess on Sunday as his fine header helped Chelsea to a 1-0 win over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
That goal, a powerful header from 12 yards following a fine cross from deep from Cesar Azpilicueta, means that the 24-year-old is now statistically the best header of a ball in Europe.
The Chelsea forward took his tally for the season to eight with the strike against the ‘Red Devils’, with five of those having been scored with his head.
Until know, the former Real Madrid man had been tied with Monaco’s Falcao and Valencia’s Rodrigo on four headed efforts, but his latest strike allowed him to leapfrog those two into first place.
What’s more, over the course of the last two seasons, only Torino’s Andrea Belotti comes close to Morata’s tally of 11 headed goals.
Premier League defences beware.
