Real Madrid have done it again. September has proved to be quite the month for the club’s legal department and they were busy once again today as Marco Asesnio was tied down to a new deal.
Real are doing a sterling job of tying down the spine of their squad for the long-term and the latest name to be added to the ‘renewed’ list is that of the Spanish international.
Asensio follows in the footsteps of Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane, Marcelo, Isco, Marcos Llorente and Karim Benzma in committing his long-term future to ‘Los Blancos’.
The Spanish giants today announced that Asensio has signed a new six-year deal that will keep him at the Bernabeu until the summer of 2023.
The 21-year-old will face the press tomorrow at 14:00 CET in the press suite at Real’s Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Asensio has enjoyed a rapid rise to stardom in the last 12 months and has had a fine start to the season, scoring four in ten games in all competitions so far this term.
Those figures make Asensio Real’s second top scorer so far this season, with many onlookers suggesting that the former Real Mallorca man is more worthy of a starting place in Zidane’s side than Welshman Gareth Bale.
The youngster is very highly-rated in the Spanish capital, hence the haste in tying the player down long-term.
Zinedine Zidane is a huge fan of a stable squad and the spate of new contracts will only help to that end.
