4 Reasons Why Paris Saint-Germain Could Go All the Way in This Season’s Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain look a frightening proposition this year, and could launch a legitimate assault on Europe’s most prestigious club competition.

Should they triumph, they will be delivering the trophy the club’s Qatari owners covet the most above all else and it’ll make all other European heavyweights stand up and take note.
Here are some reasons why the Parisians could claim this year’s trophy.

1. Firepower

There aren’t many scarier tridents on world football at the moment than PSG’s frontline of Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

They work so well together and one needs only to look at the stats so far this season to see what a ferocious unit they are.

Cavani has 21 goals in all competitions already, Neymar has 13 and Mbappe, who is still just 18 years of age, has seven but with seven assists.

The team as a collective have plundered a staggering 69 already this season and make no bones about it, these three will give any defender a nightmare right about now.

2. Neymar Can Win Games Single-Handedly

The Champions league is the stage for which outstanding players make names for themselves.

It is the breeding ground for super-stardom, and the most expensive player ever Neymar is absolutely bossing it at the moment.

The Brazilian is supremely talented as everybody knows, and has the talent to come up trumps when needed.
PSG know this first hand, when the forward inspired Barcelona to one of the greatest comebacks in football history when the teams met last season.

3. Rivals Are Struggling

PSG are in with a great chance of going all the way because some of the European heavyweights are struggling in this year’s competition.

Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have all failed to truly hit the ground running in the competition so far and there is perhaps a window of opportunity for the French side to capitalise.
Manchester City are looking dangerous and could be a major bump in the road for their objective.

4. Wind in Their Sails

People are beginning to realise that Ligue 1 is not quite as ‘easy’ as it has been made out to be, and the fact that PSG are blowing away the competition domestically can only aid their efforts in Europe.

By winning game after game, the team get into a good habit. The more wins the same set of players get to experience, the more the mentality strengthens which can then be transferred over the the Champions League, along with a shed-load of confidence.

They have such an incredibly talented bunch of players, and momentum could carry them all the way to glory this season.
